Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Assistant

At Young Buddies Club, our Philosophy is to inspire a sense of belonging in children so that they feel safe and comfortable at the centre. We will focus on physical and social activities while giving them some time for their own to stimulate their creativity and curiosity.

We are currently looking for ECE Assistant to our team!

• Position: Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Assistant
• Work Hours: 30-40 hours per week
• Wage: $20 per hour
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Benefits: The Employee shall be entitled to paid vacation in the amount of 10 days per annum. It can be used after the 1-year contract period and is suitable for only full-time job status.
• Work Location: 13751 112 Ave, Surrey, BC V3R 2G4

Main duties

• Support Early childhood educators in planning and developing programs and activities based on observation of individual children
• Support learning programs to meet children’s physical, intellectual, social, cultural, creative and emotional needs
• Maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
• Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records of children handled taking note of the program’s results
• Assist with developing, listening, and comprehension skills using approved subjects in storytelling, role-playing, games, music and art activities
• Assist with proper eating, dressing and washroom habits
• Attend staff meetings and discuss the progress of children

Requirements/Education

• Experience in childcare is required.
• Completion of an early childhood education assistant certificate program or post-secondary courses in early childhood education required.
• Early Childhood education assistant license in BC is required
• Able to work all shifts in the classroom
• Criminal Record Check required
• Enthusiastic with children
• Well organized and strong work ethic
