Job Title: Laundry and Housekeeping Attendant

Job Overview:

As a Laundry and Housekeeping Attendant, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the facility while ensuring exceptional service standards for our guests. The Laundry and Housekeeping Attendant will report to the Housekeeping Manager Gabriel Lira of whom oversees the Laundry and Housekeeping Department at The Bruce Hotel.

Job Requirements:

• Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual.
• Possess and exhibit the drive to provide exceptional service with an eye for detail.
• Flexible hours are required (evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Must be able to perform physical tasks for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 50 lbs.
• Professional appearance appropriate for a luxury hotel.

• Skilled in time management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Laundry Tasks:
   • Sorting and washing laundry based on color, fabric, and type.
   • Loading laundry into the washer using proper detergents and cleaning solutions.
   • Transferring laundry to the dryer and ensuring proper drying temperature.
   • Ironing or steaming clothes to make them neat and crisp.
   • Folding, hanging, and packaging laundered items.
   • Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the laundry area.
   • Keeping inventory of supplies and equipment and reporting any issues promptly.
   • Handling customer requests and complaints related to laundry services.
   • Operating laundry equipment proficiently.
2. Housekeeping Tasks:
3. Providing daily service and turndown service for all guest rooms.
4. Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing floors and carpets.
5. Dusting and polishing furniture, fittings, and surfaces.
6. Emptying and cleaning trash containers, disposing of trash in a sanitary manner.
7. Cleaning wash basins, mirrors, tubs, and showers.
8. Making up beds and changing linens as required.
9. Washing windows as scheduled.
10. Cleaning corridors, lobbies, stairways, elevators, and lounges.
11. Organizing work schedule from the room status list, arrivals, and departures.
12. Restocking room supplies and ensuring all appliances are in working order.
13. Responding to calls for housekeeping problems and delivering requested items to guest rooms.
14. Ensuring confidentiality and security of guest rooms.
15. Reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
16. Observing and reporting damage of hotel property.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledgeable about different cleaning techniques, methods, and sanitation products.
• Physically fit and agile, able to reach, kneel, bend, and lift required loads.
• Attentive to guest rooms and public spaces.
• Ability to work well with the team to plan and organize tasks efficiently.

This combined role as a Laundry and Housekeeping Attendant requires dedication, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional service to our guests.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.70 per hour
